I'm back

Howdy folks... sorry I fell out there for a little while. I'm a busy little girl.

But I am here now! Christmas was GREAT, new years was great! School's back, and what's even more amazing...I haven't experienced any emotional breakdowns since it started! In fact, I'm rather enjoying it! Unbelieveable.....

It does keep me busy though, justice for my absence here.

news, news... let me think here.. OH! The other day I hit 50 mph on 2920!!! OH YEAH!!! hehehoho.. the thrill...

that's all for now,

For need of new post

Yes - even without the usual prompting, I've realized I need a new post.

Guess what. JOHN IS GONE AGAIN!!! (news flash) - I'm so.. well... envious...

The ball was fantastic!!! Best ever in my personal opinion...though too short :)

IT'S ALMOST DECEMBER!!! YAY!!!! SO much is happening!!!

On another note, I thought these were hilarious:

The one about the visitor sitting in the Martins pew was my favorite :)

To satisfy the ungrateful youth who failed to appreciate the effect of my last inspiration

Now then - Daddy and John are off hunting again. :) They'll be back sometime Sunday. Speaking of hunting, John shot a coyote that was in our pasture (after our chickens) Tuesday afternoon... it was a scrawny, mangy lookin thing - not worth skinnin.

If anyone wants to read an EXCELLENT book on the Puritans, I would highly recommend "Worldly Saints" by Leland Ryken. Beautiful.

Mom made about 5 gallons of soup last night... we'll be in good shape for the next few weeks.

Oh yes! The Mother/Daughter retreat! I knew I was forgetting something. That was great fun!! Saw lots of fun people I haven't seen in a long time, and Mom & I got to talk alot. (Christie was with Laura most of the time)... and I got the best picture.....

Poor Melissa REALLY didn't want to go horse-back riding, but she did it for Grace -

INCREDIMOM!

Hark! I have more terrific news!!!! THE BRISTERS ARE COMING TO THE BALL!!!!! (*HALLELUJAH*)

There - doest that satisfy thee?

Gone with the wind

Weeeeellll, My boys are gone. I'm alone (well, hardly, considering the rest of the bunch). I don't know what else to say, but I felt I had to say something, as my adoring public has been patiently requesting that I post....

I miss John, I really do..... I especially miss his pool cleaning abilities. Ugh. We had that big hickory tree that was by our back porch taken down, because it was a disaster next to the pool, but when they took it down. Leaves. Sawdust. Branches. I'm in a swimsuit right now, about to go do a thorough vacuming. It's a good thing I love that pool so much. I'm going to wait a little while though, cause I'm drinking a shake for breakfast, and (I kid you not), I'm freezin and shiverin my teeth out, and I don't want to swim like that. My braces are frozen! Speaking of braces..... I'm getting them off this month! YAY!!!!! I've had them for about 3-4 years! Some of yall have never seen me without braces!!! I don't know if yall noticed, but for this last month, I decided to celebrate by getting bright pink bands.... I've worn naught but blue for years. But now I'm pink and happy (and cold)!

May your morning be.....warmer, than mine!

The Chart

Do you know what this is?

It's probably kinda hard for you to read.

It may be my favorite chart in the world.

You cannot imagine my elation when I found it.

It's a chart of the Kings and Queens of England.

Including family groups.

Y'all probably think I'm wacked.

Which could very well be possible.

I'm going to confess something.

Many of you probably already know this or at least suspected it.

I'm obsessed with the Bristish Isles.

I think I could happily spend a majority of my life in the study of them.

I'm going to go print my chart so I can hug it.

Boouk (cover....pages.....)

I am happy to present you all with a book recommendation!!!!

The year 2007 will mark the quadricentennial anniversary of America s first colony--Jamestown, Virginia. In honor of this exciting benchmark, Vision Forum has published a newly revised edition of the Jamestown tercentennial classic, To Have and to Hold, an historical novel depicting the trials, struggles, and triumphs of the colony's early years. Written from a distinctly Christian perspective, "To Have and to Hold" brings to life America s birth, weaving a story of adventure and intrigue with providence and perseverance in colonial Jamestown, while outlining the trials endured by our forefathers as they built the New World. Read about swashbucklers, savages, and noblemen, as fictional characters mingle with the real Jamestown leaders and colonists. Seen through the eyes of Ralph Percy--a valiant warrior protecting and cherishing his wife, his duty, and the honor of God's holy law--"To Have and to Hold" will leave you with an appreciation for the sacrifice of those who have gone before, and a better understanding of our nation's history.

Yes. It's GREAT!

Go read it.

EMERGENCY PRAYER REQUEST!!!

Okay. Everyone is going to fast and pray non-stop for the next 24 hours. I have a little sore throat. There's a dance practice tomorrow. This is not cool. I'm not panicking. This WILL go away by tomorrow morning. Nonetheless, prayer (fasting ;) would be most appreciated.

Nothing can keep me away from that practice!!! I'd dance on crutches if I had too!!!!

Brooke

BTW, don't you panic either. I'll be FINE. With lots of prayer and fasting.

Pride and Prejudice Play

It was wonderful!!!!!

Mrs. McMinn, Molly, Laura, and Natalyn came with us, as they had tickets too. We ate somewhere known as the "Cafe Express" and then headed off to the theatre.

We ran into the Abbrats (anyone remember Kelsey?) there, too!

Anyway, THAT WAS THE BEST MR. COLLINS EVER!!! Oh, he did SUCH a wonderful job! (So convincing, so disgusting). It was also the best Mr. Bennet ever! Oh so funny! And I can't make up my mind whether or not that was the best Mrs. Bennet ever....if not, it was SURE close.

Elizabeth was okay..... not as good as the movies. As was Mr. Darcy......he didn't look a thing like the movies........

Lady Catherine was funny too: she said "If only her health would have permitted it" (about Anne) over and over.... :):):)

Very funny. Very good. Worth seeing. Especially with friends.

5 days until the wild conquerors return!

I've finally seen Braveheart. It was beyond what mere vocabulary can describe. I only recommend it to those who are very emotionally stable.
