The Saturday Quote

I thought this was kinda funny:

"Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy...So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.And... Men? Men are like a fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it's up to their mothers and sisters to stomp the socks off them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with."

The Belated Saturday Quote

Was a little too busy yesterday.....

"The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it; and every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of either merit or sense." -Jane Austen

Guild

GUILD IS FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN SLEEP IN PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about: guild is where a victim (such as I) must play ten MEMORIZED piano pieces before a criticing judge... talk about nerve-wrecking!!

But.............the judge was a nice old grandma this year.... and she gave me a superior-plus!!! (to enlighten the ignorant: a superior-plus is the highest one can receive) I think I'm going to adopt her as my 3rd grandma!!! She only made me play ONE scale (true, it was F# minor, but still, ONLY ONE)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the piano people: I had 36 C's and 1 A!!!

HAPPY DAYS!!!

The Saturday Quote

"These are times in which a genius would wish to live. It is not in the still calm of life, nor in the repose of a pacific station, that great characters are formed. The habits of a vigorous mind are formed in contending with difficulties. Great necessities call our great virtues." -Abigail Adams

The Freedom-Bondage of the Will / weather / and blah blah

Has anyone ever read the debate between Erasmus and Luther on the Freedom/Bondage of the will??? I HAVE!!! (or at least, I'm in the process of). Erasmus is a little boring, but Luther is hilarious! I am momentarily enraptured! I would not suggest it though, if you are of the "who cares about deep thought" type. Note: I have NOTHING against that... I'm just suggesting if you are such, don't read that debate :)

The Promised Land, though flowing with brisket and BBQ sauce, has the weirdest weather! Last weekend it WAS FREEZING, during the week it was nice, but a little hot, and VERY sunny... now its a little cooler and raining. Talk about inconsistent!

Mom, John, Christie, and I are going to a Newsboys concert tonight... hope it's not raining then.

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PROOOOOHHHHHHHEEEEEEMMMMMOOOOOO!!!!!! OOOSSCCARIIIIAAAAAA!!!!! (all in opera voice) !!!!!!! MIIIIOOO BEEEEENNNNNAAAA!!!!

Oh, btw, I got a xanga. It's web address is http://www.xanga.com/BABJesusFreak :)

Hope to see you all Sunday,

The Saturday Quote

Oh dear... I haven't posted anything since last Saturday.... but my conscience reminds me that it is for good reason. Here is this week's Saturday Quote. :)

"Lack of attention to one's personal finances is a mark of refinement" ~Lousia May Alcott

"A Christian is a perfectly free lord of all, subject to none. A Christian is a perfectly dutiful servent of all, subject to all" ~Martin Luther

Chicken Tragedies.. hospital births...and frustration

Guess what..... our poor little chicks.... have suffered a tragedy.... it seems that a coon or the likes managed to pry its way into our chicken coop...... and only 14 of the 37 survived.... (*sob*, *anguish*, *knashing of teeth*).... poor Christie....

My cousin Bree had her baby on Tuesday! She went into labor on Monday. Mom, Christie, and I went up (San Antonio) Monday afternoon. NEVER HAVE YOUR BABIES IN HOSPITALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (unless of course, its an emergency or health issue, but if that is not the case, there is no excuse)........... When she was 4 centimeters (10 cent is when the baby comes out) they gave her an epidural (a drug which causes her to lose all feeling from waist down) which slowed down the labor (even though the deceiving nurse told her it would do no such thing). If she hadn't taken it, she probably would have had the baby within 2 hours... but, no, the docters had to interfere! By 8:00 Tuesday morning, they had convinced her that the baby was 9 lbs 5 ounces (big baby), that her head was tilted back (they have to be tilted forward to birth), that she was way too high, and that the only thing left to be done was a C-section.... (EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) The baby turned out to be 7 lbs 1 ounce! And mom noticed (after she was "born") that her head seemed kinda pointed.... which means, THAT SHE WAS IN THE BIRTH CANAL WHEN THEY DID THE C-SECTION!!!!!!!! DECEIVERS!!!!!!!!!! (by the way, I've written a paper on home births vs. hospital births... if you want to know how I really feel). The C-section was at 10:00 AM .... and Bree didn't get to hold her baby til THAT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!! Those brutish medical staff. (Now don't get me wrong.... docters have their place, like when some boy falls off a cliff and breaks his back... but they have NO business delivering babies!!!!!!!!!!) Now Mommy and Baby are home... thank yall for praying....
